The socks are knitted with a 3-layer construction, which makes the best use of the properties of the different materials. Despite the multi-layer construction, the ankle-length socks are light and thin, but they keep your feet warm even in cooler weather.
The inner layer of the sock is polypropylene, which effectively wicks moisture away from the skin, helping to keep your feet dry. The middle layer is merino wool, which brings warmth and breathability to the sock. The outer layer is polyamide, which is a very durable synthetic fiber, and protects the wool perfectly from the heaviest wear. The multi-layer structure makes the sock functional and durable.
Teijo socks are at their best for outdoor activities, such as hiking on nature trails or walking. They are great to wear alone, but also work well as a base sock under a thicker sock, for example in hiking shoes or boots.
Merino wool is a highly breathable and antibacterial material. It also keeps you warm when wet and dries quickly. Often, just airing the socks is enough to maintain them, and washing them in water is not necessary at all. Polypropylene is a good material for wicking moisture, and is therefore well suited for socks that are intended to control sweating in the feet, for example during sports. Polyamide, on the other hand, adds durability and flexibility to the socks.
Thanks to its thin structure, Teijo is well suited for running shoes and gym shoes, and together with a thicker sock, also for work shoes. Teijo is not at its best in very loose shoes, such as rubber boots, when it is exposed to heavy mechanical abrasion and has a thin structure.

Wool is a warm and breathable material. Sheep wool has excellent performance characteristics, as it breathes and insulates heat well. Self-renewing and biodegradable, natural fibre absorbs moisture well, does not wrinkle and straightens quickly. For wool products, airing rather than washing is sometimes sufficient. Wool is naturally fire-retardant, highly resistant to bacteria and mould.
