The medium-thick Honka socks are delightful with their soft structure. The special Flextech structure makes the socks really comfortable and flexible to wear. The thick soles soften your step even on long hikes, and the ankle-length shaft reaches well above the upper of your shoes. The socks have an inconspicuous toe seam that does not cause chafing or indentations on the foot.
A light tightening in the middle of the foot improves the fit of the socks and keeps them in place better. Thanks to the elastic structure, the socks do not cause an unpleasant feeling of pressure and compression on the feet.
Honka socks are ideal hiking socks for year-round use. In winter, they are also suitable for outdoor activities or yard work, where there is a lot of standing and your feet need softness and warmth. The socks can be worn alone without socks, or in cooler weather with, for example, thin merino wool socks.
Merino wool brings breathability and warmth to the socks. It is naturally antibacterial, meaning the socks won't start to smell easily, even if your feet sweat during the day. Merino wool also wicks moisture away from your skin to the outer layers of the sock, keeping your feet dry. Polyamide brings durability, softness and flexibility to the socks.
Socks are best worn with hiking boots in the fall and winter, when conditions are cooling down or cold. Socks are a bit too thick and tight for regular sneakers, which means that air cannot circulate between the sock and the shoe, and the properties of the sock are not at their best.
This product is also made in Sukkamestarit's own factory in Ylöjärvi with 100% Finnish work.

Wool is a warm and breathable material. Sheep wool has excellent performance characteristics, as it breathes and insulates heat well. Self-renewing and biodegradable, natural fibre absorbs moisture well, does not wrinkle and straightens quickly. For wool products, airing rather than washing is sometimes sufficient. Wool is naturally fire-retardant, highly resistant to bacteria and mould.
