Arctic - Tactical merino wool socks

Arctic socks have a toe and heel in a different color from the base color. The Uphill Arctic text is knitted on the outside of the shaft at the mouth of the sock.

The most notable feature of the socks is their all-over merino wool terry construction and knee length. It is often thought that the cold only chills the feet through the ground and that only the bottom of the sock is made for extra warmth or strength. In reality, the cold also hits the feet from other places, and Arctic socks are designed for these freezing conditions. The shaped heel improves the fit and the strong lycra knit along the entire length of the sock evens out the pressure on the foot.

With these socks you can conquer the North Pole or go on a mid-winter hike to Utsjoki, and your feet will stay warm! However, it is of paramount importance to wear appropriate merino wool base socks with the Arctic socks to get the best benefit and warmth from the socks. Recommended to be worn with a liner sock. Choose, for example, Malla or Teijo .

Merino wool is a highly breathable material that prevents feet from sweating and helps keep them dry. Antibacterial merino wool also prevents odors if your feet do sweat from time to time. Polyamide has been added to the socks for added durability.

Arctic socks allow you to go out in the freezing cold with confidence, when paired with good winter boots or generous hiking boots that have enough room for thick socks and still have room for air to circulate.

This product is also made in Sukkamestarit's own factory in Ylöjärvi with 100% Finnish work.

Care instructions:

• we recommend pre-washing merino wool socks before use
• for marine socks, airing alone is often sufficient
• careful washing at a maximum temperature of 40 degrees Celsius
• use as light a spin as possible
• the use of a wash bag saves wear and tear on the product
• do not use detergents containing rinsing agents or bleaching agents
• do not use a tumble dryer or drying programmes
• please note that merino wool socks will shrink in the wash, please shape/stretch the socks while damp to restore the original size
• use a lint remover - merino wool socks are easily linted by rubbing

Wool is a warm and breathable material. Sheep wool has excellent performance characteristics, as it breathes and insulates heat well. Self-renewing and biodegradable, natural fibre absorbs moisture well, does not wrinkle and straightens quickly. For wool products, airing rather than washing is sometimes sufficient. Wool is naturally fire-retardant, highly resistant to bacteria and mould.
